On Friday, March 8, 1975 Leonard R. Boedeker opened "Heritage
Men's & Boy's Wear" with stores in Caldwell and Brenham,
Texas. Since 1957 Mr. Boedeker thought the City of Bryan would
be a good location for a store. Formerly A.M. Waldrops, the
current Main Street location has been a Men's clothing store
for over 150 years.
In March of 1976, upon invitation by Leonard and Erma Boedeker,
Bob Dodson (son-in-law) came to Bryan, Texas to manage the
store. In January 1984 Mr. Dodson bought and has ran Heritage
Menswear ever since. That same year "Boy's Wear"
was replaced with Men's Big & Tall sizing creating the
current name of the store, "Dodson's Heritage Menswear
Big & Tall." The decision to carry Big & Tall
sizing has lead to the fastest growing category in current
sales. Heritage carries from the smallest Men's sizes to a
full compliment of Big & Tall Clothing and accessories.Heritage
